About Us

Our goal in caring for your child is to see your child grow physically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally to the best of their ability!

Philosophy

At our Center, you step into the wondrous world of young children where imagination and self-expression

flourish. Our teachers encourage children to use critical thinking and problem solving skills in their daily experiences. The classroom environment is carefully designed to reflect the children’s interests and to cultivate a positive self-image, independence, and interdependence. We foster equal opportunity in learning and education for all children regardless of race, creed, sex, religion, or national origin.

Infants (6 wks - 17 months)

At this young age, your baby seeks the security of familiar places and people. Our low student-to-teacher ratio creates the opportunity for our childcare experts to spend one-on-one time with your baby. To encourage his/her desire to communicate with others, we bond with your child during their daily activities, such as story time and feedings. But your family’s role in your baby’s development is extremely important as well. For this reason, each child will have a picture of their family placed above their crib. This ensures your child’s familiarity and trust in your family as well as our care providers.

Daily Infant Development Activities Include:

  • Indoor Floor Exploration
  • Socialization
  • Outdoor Exploration
  • Story time
  • Singing and Musical Enrichment
  • Bonding via Rocking
  • Diaper Changes and Cleanup
  • Nap Time
  • Bonding via Holding and Cuddling
  • Feeding Time(s)

Toddlers (18 months - 35 months)

During this critical development stage, your child needs open space, structure and the ability to assert his/her autonomy. At Cornerstone Learning Academy, we provide large, age-appropriate and manipulative activities that aid coordination development. Additionally, in our 2-year-old room’s more structured environment, our staff guides your child through constructive play and learning via exploration centers that incorporate fundamental skills in science, math, art, music and language. By exciting and stimulating your child’s desire to learn at an early age, our child development specialists help create a life-long love of learning.

The Childhood Center uses a natural, positive method to promote your child’s desire to perform many necessary skills, including dressing, undressing, feeding himself/herself and, perhaps most importantly, use the potty.

We cater to the needs of the independent child, including the need to use the restroom. Our easily accessed facilities and the encouragement of our child development staff help your toddler/2-year-old complete the potty training process without fear.

Preschoolers (3 years - 5 years)

During preschool, your child completes his/her transition from independent learning to a more structured environment. To encourage your 3-year-old to play with friends as well as learn a variety of subjects, we arranged our room to allow your child to move easily from one activity to another. Though your 3-year-old’s individual development is still important, this is the year that he/she begins to work in groups and you begin to hear about friends, art projects, and learned songs and stories. Throughout our 3-year-old care room are teacher-guided learning centers which encourage your child’s natural curiosity. I've always loved working with kids since I was young. I worked at the daycare in my church when I was 13 and helped my grandma with my siblings. Working with kids brings me joy, to know that I can be somewhat of an inspiration to a little human and lead them in the right direction.

This is My second daycare. My last one, I worked with 18-24 months and 2 year old's. I absolutely love working with kids. All my cousins are younger than me and I have 2 younger siblings, one is 4 and the other is 16. One day I hope to open my own daycare.

I love working with kids. I have taken care of most of my siblings since a young age and I'm so thrilled to be teaching these kids so many new things and hopefully make an impact.
